He has contributed to knowledge in the assessment of factors responsible for the decline in physical activity and obesity-related risk factors for cardiovascular disease among adolescents and adults. He has also contributed to knowledge in the areas of exercise stress testing, functional capacity assessment, and exercise prescription with a main focus on cardiovascular diseases and pulmonary conditions. He is exceptionally passionate about making an impact in the field of cardiovascular health with the aim of improving physical functioning and general well-being of individuals with cardiac problems. He has substantive experience in clinical reasoning, exercise rehabilitation programs, and a strong understanding of clinical research design, methodology, and data analysis. He has also led several research projects as principal investigator in a number of randomized clinical trials and observational studies. His writing and communication skills are excellent, and he has published his research in reputable local and international peer-reviewed journals. Recently, he won a highly competitive CARTA Re-entry research grant.
