Folusho Balogun

A Research Person at the Institute of Child health, College of Medicine in the University of Ibadan with research interest in the dynamics of vaccine hesitancy in Africa and design of interventions to increase vaccine uptake. Folusho is also interested in adolescent health research, specifically adolescent sexuality and the effects of digital technology on adolescent health. Her first degree was in Medicine and Surgery and she has a Master’s in Public Health (Community Health track). She completed residency training in Pediatrics before starting doctoral training in Child and Adolescent health, majoring in adolescent health. Folusho has worked in different capacities as a medical officer, a resident doctor and is currently a consultant Pediatrician at the University College Hospital, Nigeria. At the clinic, she provides health care services for children and adolescents and is also involved in school health outreaches to provide health talks, counseling and health screening for adolescents. She is also involved in the training of undergraduate medical students and masters in public health students. In this capacity, she deliver lectures in various departments in the University of Ibadan on child and adolescent health, as well as research methodology. she also supervises dissertations for master’s students. She has been the principal investigator in some funded research projects. Post PhD, she aspires to have a post doctoral training in adolescent health in one of the well established adolescent health centers in the world in order to sharpen my research skills in adolescent health. She also plans to engage more in translational research to provide home grown and context specific solutions to child and adolescent health problems in developing countries.
