Folake Lawal

He graduated from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2003 and completed his residency training in Community Dentistry at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. He was certified as a Person after passing the final examinations of both the West African College of Surgeons and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in the specialty of Community Dentistry in April and May 2012, respectively. He also earned a Master of Dental Science degree from the University of Ibadan in 2007, with a dissertation on traditional oral health care practices. He was appointed a Lecturer/Honorary Consultant in the Department of Periodontology and Community Dentistry at the University of Ibadan and University College Hospital in 2012. Since October 2015, he has been a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Periodontology and Community Dentistry. His research focuses on school oral health promotion, oral health-related quality of life, epidemiology of oral diseases, and the oral health of underserved communities. He teaches, conducts research, provides oral health care services to the community, and trains dental students, medical students, community health care practitioners, and dentists at both postgraduate and residency training levels.
