Dr. Abimbola Margaret Obimakinde is a Senior Lecturer in the Family Medicine Unit, Department of Community Medicine, College of Medicine, Faculty of Clinical Sciences/Public Health, University of Ibadan (UI), Oyo State, Nigeria. She is involved in the provision of primary care at the community level in the South-West (SW) region of Nigeria.
She is one of Cohort 1 authors of the NIH Medical Education Partnership Initiative for Nigeria for Junior Faculty (MEPI-J) at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria (2017–2019). She is involved in mentor research training with mentors from the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine, UI, Nigeria, and the Center for Global Health, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, Chicago, USA. She has held administrative posts in professional organizations, including the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN). She is currently the financial secretary of MDCAN, UCH Ibadan, and has served as Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Treasurer of another MDCAN branch within SW Nigeria. She is a member of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), the Society of Family Physicians of Nigeria (SOFPON), and the World Organization of National Colleges and Academies of Family Physicians (WONCA). She has served as committee chair and member of her professional bodies for numerous purposes, including the development of clinical protocols and training curricula for Acute Medicine and Palliative Medicine. She is a Cohort 9 person of CARTA (2019).
