Andrew Tamale

A Public Health Vet and University Educator with the passion of transforming students’ lives into world citizens with a better life and purpose. Tamale is mainly known for working with the One Health Residency and AFROHUN (Africa One Health University Network) on various activities that steer the One Health Approach in Uganda. He has worked in teams on consultancies which have taken place in and outside Uganda mainly in the Veterinary and Public Health sectors. He has attended and presented at conferences worldwide (USA, Europe, Thailand, South Africa, East Africa, Ethiopia). He has several publications which can be accessed on Research gate. The grants he has won are detailed on the same portal. Apart from being a  CARTA person, he belongs to other professional association including being an alumnus of the University of Minnesota and Rise Carnegie Post doc. His research interests include capacity building of academics, the transformation of vulnerable communities’ health and livelihood i.e. fishing communities, cattle keepers, research on environmental contaminants unknown or neglected by surveillance teams and Aquatic Health. The subjects taught at the university include Environmental toxicology. Epidemiology, Aquatic Health, One Health related skills and Public Health.
