A registered nurse and midwife, researcher and lecturer. Margaret currently lecturers in the Department of Nursing, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Her research areas of interest include; maternal health (prenatal, perinatal, intrapartum and postnatal care), reproductive health (family planning), and women’s health. Her research has focused on prenatal education, and healthy behavior in pregnancy. In her previous studies, she focused on attitude of pregnant women towards prenatal education, and, the need to improve prenatal education as an important aspect of prenatal care. She has also studied factors that influence choice of place of birth among pregnant women, and how place of birth of birth determines availability of skilled birth attendant. Margaret is conversant with the use of both qualitative and quantitative research design. The long-term overall aim of her research is to provide solution to the problem of high maternal mortality in low and middle-income countries, especially in Nigeria. Besides CARTA, she is also a recipient of scholarship and grant awards such as policy communication scholarship award; University of Ibadan Medical Education Program Initiative (UI-MEPI-J) mentor-mentee research grant; and Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) conference grant. She has been training on implementation research and policy communication for researchers. She has expertise, and motivation necessary to successfully carry out research projects, and has some peer-reviewed publications. Currently, her aspiration is to develop in grant writing by applying for different grants related to her research interests, as well as in policy communication. Margaret also aspires to mentor younger faculty members and upcoming researchers in scientific research conduct and grant writing.
