Cyril Tamuka Chironda

Cyril Tamuka Chironda is a data analyst and PhD candidate at the University of the Witwatersrand School of Public Health's Agincourt Research Center. He holds a BSc in Actuarial Science, a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Science and Mathematical Statistics, and an MSc in Mathematical Statistics. His academic training has equipped him with robust skills in programming with R, Python, and SAS, as well as expertise in database management and advanced statistical analysis. In his current role, Cyril applies machine learning and statistical methods to tackle pressing public health issues. His research interests include the development of a population-based cancer registry and, as part of his PhD work, the exploration of machine learning applications in analyzing multimorbidity trends and dynamics in rural South Africa. Alongside his research, he is passionate about teaching and mentoring, having served as a teaching assistant in both actuarial science and statistics, and he is currently supervising Master's students. His commitment to academic excellence and innovative research continues to inspire his work in the field.
